La sección Contrastiva tiene diversos objetivos destinados a:
- profundizar en la historia y tradición de los estudios contrastivos entre las lenguas española e italiana, tanto en sus aspectos teóricos como metodológicos, gramaticográficos, culturales e ideológicos
- recuperar las tradiciones textuales tanto española como italiana que les han servido de base
- relacionar este tipo de estudios con otras vertientes de la lingüística aplicada, en especial de la metalexicografía
- relacionar las gramáticas con los ámbitos de aplicación en traducción, interpretación y de la didáctica
- identificar y estudiar la evolución de la metodología y práctica contrastivas
- proponer aproximaciones interlingüísticas e interculturales
- recuperar el contexto institucional (escolar o universitario) o privado (editoría) en el que surgen
- identificar los contextos culturales y los supuestos teóricos, metodológicos y formativos de los estudiantes de español L2 en ambiente italófono.
El portal consta de tres apartados con contenidos en fase de actualización:
- Repertorio de Gramáticas
incluye textos pertenecientes al género gramática, con exclusión de manuales u otros instrumentos que no se configuran a partir de un texto gramatical. Se incluye una ficha para cada edición y relativas reediciones o reimpresiones, desde los orígenes hasta hoy.
- Bibliografía de los estudios sobre lengua del par español e italiano que tienen como objetivo analizar aspectos contrativos.
- Biblioteca de las gramáticas de español para italohablantes y de italiano para hispanohablantes. Textos impresos y manuscritos desde el siglo XVI hasta hasta 1980, en formato pdf.

The goals of the Contrastiva portal are manifold:
- analyse the history and tradition of contrastive studies of Spanish and Italian in their theoretical, methodological, grammaticographical, cultural and ideological aspects
- recover the Spanish and Italian textual traditions that were their foundations
- relate these studies to other aspects of Applied Linguistics, especially to Metalexicography
- relate grammars to their field of application in Translation, Interpreting and Teaching
- detect and study the evolution of contrastive methodology and practice
- suggest intercultural and interlingual approaches
- identify the institutional (school or university) or private (editorial) context that gave birth to contrastive materials
- identify the cultural contexts and the theoretical, methodological and learning assumptions of Spanish L2 students in an Italian speaking environment
The portal is composed of three sections whose contents are being constantly updated:
- Grammar repertoire: includes grammars, except manuals or other tools that were not elaborated as a grammar text. It includes a record for each edition and its later editions and reprints, from the inception of grammars until today.
- Bibliography of contrastive studies on the Spanish and Italian language pair.
- Library of grammars of Spanish for Italian speakers and of Italian for Spanish speakers. Printed texts and manuscripts from the 16th century to 1980, in PDF format.
